ACT2Excel can be set up to do the following steps.
- Open an Excel spreadsheet to be used as a template
- Copy data from specific fields in the Current ACT! Contact to specific cells within the spreadsheet
- Copy data from specific fields in the Current ACT! Group to specific cells within the spreadsheet
- Copy data from specific cells in the spreadsheet back to specific fields in the Current ACT! Contact
- Save the resulting file, giving it a meaningful name that includes contact data (like the contact's name and company) in the file name
- Attach the resulting file back to the Notes/History of the contact as an attachment
